M.O.T. OVERVIEW
Private cars and light commercial vehicles over 3 years old must be tested every 12 months. This is to comply with the government standards of minimum road worthiness and vehicle exhaust emissions.
A MOT inspector is looking at lights, braking systems, tyres, suspension, exhaust emissions, seat belts, airbags and overall structural integrity of the vehicle. The test will usually last around one hour and if everything is to standard they will issue you a MOT certificate. All items that checked for the test are past at time of test and they do not carry any warranty for future use.
We can offer a pre-MOT to check the vehicle before the test is carried out and any repairs can be done to prevent a failed MOT test. If there are any problems at the time of test, you will be given up to 10 days to have the repairs done to prevent been charged a full retest fee.
If you decided to go straight for an MOT test and your vehicle does fail, if we carry out the repairs we will wave the retest fee. A small retest fee is charged when you take the failed MOT vehicle away and carry out the repairs yourself.
Class 3, 4 and 5 MOT available at all our workshops.
